Clinical SupervisionConsultation

So, you’ve finished graduate school…

And now you’re working full-time, trying to make ends meet.

Oh, yeah… and now you have to have those 2000 hours of supervision so you can get a license and be on your own!

So how do you find the right person to do this?

Whom do you ask?

How do you know you’ve found the right person?

You were taught about how important supervision is in the profession.

In fact, our professional ethics require that we seek supervision regularly to sort through ethical dilemmas, acquire new skills, work through counter-transference, and maintain objectivity in complex clinical situations.

You might want to learn about a specific theory or approach, or you might just want to have additional supervision to accumulate the hours you need to get your license sooner.

Sometimes, you just need a second opinion, or maybe the people you talk to at work don’t have the specific knowledge you’re interested in acquiring, like diagnostic assessment, case conceptualization, or differential diagnoses.

But like many counselors working toward their clinical license, you might not have a qualified supervisor at your job, or they may not have the time for supervision.

Often, even when they want to, supervisors just don’t have the time to sit down and process case material like they used to.

You need support for your journey. That’s why I’m here…

If you’re just starting…

Let’s face it: It’s not easy to walk into a room with a stranger and have them feel comfortable and safe enough to tell you honestly what’s wrong with them.

You’ll want to focus on bolstering your clinical skills, solidifying your theoretical orientation, and developing your competency with your population of interest. But I can lead you to grow and develop in these areas… as well as provide direction to resources or certifications needed.

I’ll help you develop flexibility, empathy, and acceptance… all the tools you’ll need to build rapport and create an effective therapeutic alliance with your clients.

And if you’ve been in practice for a while…

We can have in-depth discussions, or I can be the person whom you bounce ideas off.

We can review practice questions, ethical dilemmas, and how to achieve your professional goals.

Keep this in mind: Professionals who have regular clinical supervisionor consultation  have better boundaries, are more clinically focused, and experience less burnout.

Confidence is an elusive thing.

It can be easy to lose and hard to get back. Really, the best thing to do is maintain it, and that can be done with minimal effort. I can help you do that.

I’ll keep you feeling supported and validated as we collaborate on case conceptualization and future directions for your clients. And I’ll provide you feedback in a way that works best for you.

Clinical supervision or consultation will make you more confident in your skills, and that’ll equip you to provide even better support and service to your clients.

This is about your success. Don’t you owe it to yourself?

You invested time and money into obtaining your master’s degree, and now it’s time to put your knowledge into practice. You realize that you’re responsible for clients and feel vulnerable. And there’s so much they didn’t teach you in school!
